About the Boat Club

The Antigonish Boat Club is located on Antigonish Harbour -- just a few minutes from Town. The waters are warm, sheltered, and set in a landscape of incredible natural beauty. While shallow in areas, the harbour is perfect for small craft sailing, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. For larger boats, it lends access to the beautiful St. George’s Bay and its ring of coastal communities. Our boat club grounds are perfect for a relaxing day on the beach, picnic at the clubhouse, outdoor games, and more.

Membership

The club is a growing community of enthusiasts of all ages, backgrounds and interests. New members are always welcome: please complete the Membership Form.

To encourage participation, membership fees have been set at a very reasonable $85 per year for individuals or families.

If you are a sailing member, please add $40 to cover the additional dues we must pay to Sail Canada.

A copy of the current club bylaws document is available here.

New Launch Ramp

Our ramp facilitates members launching their smaller sailboats and power boats, canoes or kayaks.

Moorings

The Club has a sheltered, but shallow mooring. Members may place moorings with Club permission. Please be advised that the Club cannot guarantee mooring conditions and is not responsible for damage resulting from their use.

The Clubhouse

Our clubhouse provides basic shelter for club events. Improvements will be possible as participation grows.

Updated Docks

Thanks to a Provincial grant the Club upgraded docks during the 2020 season. A third section has been added and floats were replaced with more stable, more durable, and environmentally friendly floats. A kayak launch platform was added this season and the docks were re-stained.

Small Craft Storage

With financial assistance from the NS Dental Association Community Grant and others, we will soon start constructing a new storage building for members' canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards.

Acknowledging our Supporters

The Club is grateful for the financial support of a 2022 Community Partnership Grant from the Municipality of the County of Antigonish. We also acknowledge financial support from Sport Nova Scotia through the SportFund (add the kickstart program) and to Alva Construction as well as the Kinsmen Club to enhance our facilities and programs during 2019. Programming is also enhanced through occasional collaboration with the Town of Antigonish.
