Activities
Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP)
Antigonish is an excellent place to paddleboard and our boat club is the perfect place to launch. For several years the Club has hosted SUP lessons. We are currently investigating opportunities for the 2023 season and we will announce details as they come available.
Sandy Beach
The boat club offers a nice trail to our nearby sandy beach. A great dog-friendly place to enjoy the outdoors. Trash cans are provided near the clubhouse, please be sure to clean up after yourselves and your pets. #LeaveNoTrace.
New(er) Docks
Thanks to a Provincial grant the Club upgraded docks during the 2020 season. A third section has been added and floats were replaced with more stable, more durable, and environmentally friendly floats. A kayak launch platform was added this season and the docks were re-stained.
Sailing in Antigonish Habour
The sheltered waters and endless coastal beauty offer a perfect location for sailing for all but the largest of craft. Protection from St George's bay makes the harbor a great setting-off point for smaller craft, whether day-sailing or exploring the local coastline. Warm waters in the summertime prove favorable for the more adventurous experiences that involve getting wet.
Mobile Sailing School
Each year the Boat Club hosts Sailing lessons for youths provided by Mobile Sailing School instructors. We are very pleased to report that lessons for the 2022 season were a grand success! For more details, see our Sailing page.
Small Craft Storage Building
With financial assistance from the NS Dental Association Community Grant, we will soon start constructing a ramp-side storage building for members' canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards.
Canoe and Kayak
Antigonish Harbour offers scenic kayaking and our boat club is the perfect place to launch. Thanks to the acquisition of kayaking equipment, the club is pleased to be offering Kayak lessons and outings during summer 2023. For details, please see our Paddling Page
Boat Ramp
Under Construction - literally! But it works pretty well with just gravel so far. Heavy boats aren't recommended at this point.
Become a Volunteer
Volunteer work is the foundation of our boat club. Tasks include shore safety people during youth sailing lessons, general site upkeep (lawn mowing etc), media content creation, and more. Please reach out if you'd like to join our team of volunteers! Contact Us
